Today I’ve got another door dash for you. The town in question is a beauty called Porto Ercole.
Not that I think it’s cool to just run through towns snapping wildly and pointing blindly at every door you see in record time, I’m just amazed when I look at the times on the photos after.
That said, this time the time was 13 minutes. Ready, steady, door!
Only beware, you never know when and where you meet a door with “Vendesi” (on sale) sign and your name all over it.

Oh, Claudia, it seems that every old Italian town is one little door heaven. Thanks!

I think if I took pictures of doors around me, it would be a succession of glass doors with me being reflected in them – our suburbia and its architecture leans in the strip center direction, for sure!

That would be amusing too. 🙂

Lovely doors! I wish they’d had ThursdayDoors when I was in Italy.

That’s true, Jan, I’m lucky that way. 😀 And no reason why you shouldn’t come back…

Beautiful collection of doors, Manja. Those steps are really steep in that second last image.

Thanks, Jean. Yes, steep and right narrow.

All your doors are gorgeous, but what has struck me.. was the blue/azure sea in the first picture.. I miss it soo much~ you see, I’m a sea lover too:) Thank you for sharing!

Thanks, Christie! And indeed, the sea is beautiful and more and more azure, the closer you get to the island of Elba north from here.

You scored on this adventure! The long narrow flight of steps made my knees tremble; good thing I just had to view them and not climb them.

Thank you, Gordon. Agree on not climbing! 🙂

I wonder how many times I pick the photo with a staircase and a door at the top and bottom? Yup – that would be my choice again today 🙂

Joanne, three with one stone! 🙂 I love staircases almost as much as doors.

lots of awesome doors, but the last pic jumped out at me – the geometrical lies, with the curves of the hills barely visible, very earthen, and the green door…perfect.

Thank you, Elusive. I realise that when I’m taking photos without thinking, quickly, this is closest to how my eyes connect with my brain in shaping the world. And that’s what I’m striving for. To be surrounded by loveliness is a precondition though – I can’t make up stuff. 🙂
