Children of the Corn playground

Since it made Joey laugh, here are a few more shots of one innocent-looking playground by a gas station near Mozirje, Slovenia. But is it?

  2. After WWII there was a famous translation mistake. American “corn” is *Mais* in German, but Germany wanted to order “Korn” (grain) from the States and chose the wrong word, i. e. “corn”. Germans, not being used to eat maize, were very amazed when maize (or “corn” in US English) was delivered in lieu of the expected grain. How corny can you get. 😉

      1. These days maize is mainly grown for fodder over here. When I was a student I used to eat corn on the cob at the residence hall and was laughed at by Asians. “Only poor people eat that in Asia”, they would say.

It looks like the playset from the movie “Signs” with Mel Gibson. Great movie in case you have not seen it.
