Sometimes the roads of Roma can get a little mad, but it’s nothing a bit of protection, spilled cherry tomatoes, a cleansing fire or a good sunset flare won’t fix.

I’m curious about the burned out car? I remember that parking space is very valuable in Italy/Rome. Did someone take the wrong parking space? Also I love the last two in the gallery, almost B/W and B/W. I go for the near B/A whenever I can-for images that look better B/W I think leaving just a tiny bit of color makes them more interesting than fully B/W, but that’s just me.

I have no idea what happened with the burnt car, a couple of weeks before there were even more of them, just standing there. I’m only visiting Roma on and off, I was not there when they were burning, but I often walk the dog there. The smell is still awful. I play around with B/W for this challenge, but most – practically all – photos I take are in colour. I don’t feel I know enough about photography to do serious B/W work.

Thanks. Yes they DO need to get that trash pick up situation figured out. It kind of ruins the ambiance of that very special place, for everyone-residents and tourists.

I thought the spilled tomatoes looked sad, until I saw the car 😦

Yes, despite all the cheerfulness that is Italy, some things are decidedly sad. I rarely focus on them, just when they multiply.
