About a month ago we spent a day on the edge. Of civilisation, normalcy, unmountainness, unsnow, if you ask a Roman native. Ten minutes higher up another world begins. But today only the edge. Welcome to Logarska dolina, Slovenia.
First, a promotional ad, shot in this valley among other locations, which came out with the slogan “Slovenia, my country” about five years before Slovenia said goodbye to Yugoslavia, and created quite a stir.
At the entrance to Logarska valley, every car must pay 7 EUR. Yes, Pippi, just to watch. Cyclists and trekkers watch for free.
This is restaurant “Logarski kot” almost at the edge of the valley where mountains start to grow.
Yes, amore, I know. You have fallen into that Heidi film.
I loved everything about it.
Airy if not edgy.
Such order.
Edge of the wood.
An unexpected inhabitant.
They have home-made raspberry and elderberry juice, but you can call them “malinovec” and “šabesa”.
Plenty of languages and species.
Yep, that’s snow, no way around it.
Here somewhere I climbed over the edge and landed in Kamniška Bistrica from a former post. It’s the same mountain range, just from the other side. On this side there flows the Savinja river, and on the other there is Kamnik town. Somebody got a brilliant idea to call these mountains Kamnik-Savinja Alps.

It seems I loved this sun-kissed balcony the most.

Goodbye, Valley on the edge. In a future post we shall climb up to the Rinka waterfall. The whole 10 minutes of it. How edgy. 🙂
I can believe that, one hundred percent. It is filled, every inch, I am believing, with spirit and visual interest and surprises and grandeur, not to mention looks like people are lively and do all kinds of interesting things, so I’ll add good conversations.
What a wonderful spot…I love the balcony best, too! The mountains in the background are outrageous. Did you once again change your Theme? This one only scrolls on the right. Is it the same?

No, Badfish, ever since starting this blog in May I’ve got the same Dyad theme, it’s just that it has two formats: one full screen, the other divided like this post, and I change them up a bit. I like this division, it makes it look like a book. And all vertical photos make more sense this way. Anyway, clicking on a photo in a gallery will make it the same size, no matter which format I choose.
“Posts I like” are the last 12 posts that I clicked ‘like’ to. And the lady must belong to you, even though your edge of decency is normally not so edgy. 😀
There are few things as gorgeous as the mountains on a clear, sunny day! Beautiful photos, MMM 🙂
… and the little cutout decorations in the wood do remind me of Austria. {singing} the hills are alive, with the sound of music!!!

Claudia, sometimes Slovenia indeed comes across too good to be true. And if you come over for a week, you don’t get to realise the truth of it.
