The close-up, with the man’s face, looks quite diabolical. I’m guessing it’s modern, and concrete? because of the modern style of the face. Amazing doors and photos!

Hm… I’m quite sure it’s not very modern but really hard to tell, should go back to school for it. 😀 I did a quick google check but found no year. Oh, I did another check and dug out a major discovery: The house was built in 1920-1921, late Secession (Art Nouveau), and the guy is Mercury, hence the lightnings. And it belonged to the Railways, the station is nearby. And – my mother’s father worked for the Railways, so it’s quite possible that mom lived in this building! 😮 The query has already been sent to her.

Wow – beautiful doors! I love that last picture, and the caption you chose., it certainly does come together nicely. One thing, though. I thought if the horseshoe is hanging upside down, the luck runs out 🙂

Wow, interesting about the horseshoe, I have never heard it mentioned that the position matters. And thank you! I’m waiting for mom to confirm if her family indeed lived on No. 35 when she was 5 years old. As I say in a comment above, it used to be a Railways-owned building and her grandfather was a railway worker.

Both of these are huge winners! I like the 3-storey effect on the first door. Nice! I want one.
And the 2nd one just quietly oozes splendor and a fine pedigree without even trying.

Thanks, Joanne! However, there are one gate and three doors on today’s photos. The last door is only featured once, it just looks similar to the one before last. Still, I’m glad they win. 🙂

Never been to Slovenia and have to admit my ignorance about the culture and history of that country but I just learned that they make beautiful doors so there must be a lot more beautiful things that I’m missing out on. Hope you share more of your country with us in future posts. 🙂
