Magic, just like chaos a couple of weeks ago, is where you find it. And if you don’t see the little one, you’re not worthy of the big.

But first, the past week on my blog, seeing that this has become a regular weekend feature:

  1. I showed you my birthtown Ljubljana in Slovenia;
  2. I found a sheet with a love declaration (something which, Sara told me, is the way of the Italian men to make amends);
  3. I was looking at the supermoon, bursting out in some silly and not so silly songs;
  4. I found a video of Janis Joplin and Tom Jones, giggled at his expression and was floored by her drive;
  5. I showed you the second half of magnificent Volterra doors;
  6. I found traces of boar and surfers in wild Ansedonia.

And now, let’s see what constituted magic in my world that rainy Saturday two weeks ago: one kind in the first gallery, the other in the second. Each vista grows dramatically upon clicking on it.

I’d already be happy with all this, truly. And yet I knew that one magical garden was still waiting for me: Il giardino dei tarocchi with the spirit of its creator Niki de Saint Phalle.

    Lots of magical artwork – not sure about that bathroom! Seems a little spooky to me.

  2. Once again I am amazed such a place exists on earth. The mosaic garden and the natural landscape, both. Overwhelming beauty in different ways.

    Magic of everything! I always love that place with the sculpture and mosaics, and yes, dogs and grapevines have magic of their own, because magic of everything!

    I was going to say that art and architecture were Gaudi-esque, but they are even weirder! Interesting though.

    1. Yes, Gaudi was a big influence for Niki de Saint Phalle. I haven’t been to Barcelona yet, so I can’t really say how they compare, but I’m sure both are glorious. Thanks, Lex!

    Niki’s Place is rather freaky. I don’t think I could ever use a bathroom like that!! Can you imagine getting up in the middle of night?! Yikers!

    1. Hehe, Joanne, it’s interesting what individuals find freaky, isn’t it. I’d love to experience it in the night. If you found yourself right there, maybe you’d get different vibes. It’s a very peaceful place, despite the attack on the senses.

        You’re right … seeing something personally can be quite a different experience. Someday maybe I’ll get a chance 🙂

        Next year … is fully booked already, but I have more years to come! Have to cut down my travel a bit, because the Swedish taxman want a big chunk of my UK pension.

        Rome … and I didn’t agree to 100%, but that is many years ago .. so I will give a second chance .. when ever. Enjoy your stay.

      5. Thank you! 🙂 I guess we all know where we belong more than to another place. I love it how you give everybody a second chance.
