I’m glad to present the first 2017 edition of Thursday Doors.
The featured door is the most like me: broad, dishevelled, of uncertain age, unclear what it wants to be, most certainly not parallel, and yet charming and instantly win-me-overable (hehe).
If you are a door and you need a review – be my guest. And if you just like them, you are very welcome every Thursday, and every other day too.
And now the first batch of 2017: doors from Piran on the Slovenian coast.
The doors get more interesting as I scrolled down the page. Perhaps this is a cunning plan to get people to view the whole post, to get to the good stuff at the end!
I can totally relate to this, “If I edit it out, a butterfly may flap its wings and we know what a shitstorm comes next.”
Love the door with the notes, and that last faded blue door.
There’s something about that door you’d photograph even if you weren’t in the habit of doing so…it tricks the eye to looking like it’s closed on an angle like an inward V. Maybe it’s just me because I haven’t had my first cuppa yet, and it’s just after 5am here. I’m still blurry eyed, or the shadows and light on the door. 🙂
Deborah, I might be influenced by you to even think of editing anything out. Not yet, maybe one day… And I agree with you on that door, there is some trick involved. It looks so different than the rest.
I really like both your doors and your comments on them. Your comments made me feel like I was right there with you, looking at these marvelous doors. Thanks.
🙂 This is lovely to hear, Carol. I think this is my intention – to take you all along and write as if I were speaking to you right there. Thank you very much, and for the follow too.
Oh Manja! You always make it so challenging to like JUST ONE!!! From the door with the musical notes to the plain wooden door with the angel-wings knocker and the window pretending to be a door with the ceramic bubbles … they’re all wonderfully unique.
Thank you, Joey! True, it’s more a window than a door, but they can fool me… And I’ll tell the neighbour. 🙂 (If I dared telling them I’m using their door to entertain you all…)
So many great doors, Friend! (How do you want to be called …Manja?) My favorites are the first door on the side and where they sell ceramics – lovely. Oh, and a happy New Year to you!
Wow, your post includes enough doors for half the year, Manja. I favored the featured door for its looks and it being described as being you; if you post your photo in the hole above the door it could cetainly be construed as that.

Haha, Ian, there might be some truth to that. However, truth be told, they mostly follow the time frame.

Thanks, Joanne, this is always the plan. There is an angel indeed, well spotted, and the ceramic door is truly actually a window. 😉

Wow, Piran seems to provide more and more fabulous doors each time you feature it. They are all just amazing, thanks for letting us see them too…

Fantastic! I love the whimsy of the ceramics ‘door’ but my heart goes for the wooden double door with the springs of garland hanging.

Manja is excellent since it’s my real name. 🙂 The ceramic one has fooled us all into believing it was a door. Lots of happiness to you as well!

Thank you, Jan. Even if it’s only playing at being a door. 😉
