Four years in eight minutes

It was on this day four years ago that I landed in Tuscany. For a reason, not just for a season.

The best way to round it up is thus:

Time moves slowly, but passes quickly.
― Alice Walker (quotation reblogged from Logical Quotes)

Amore agrees: it doesn’t seem like four years at all. I could choose any other photos, but these eight minutes from two evenings ago will do just nicely: show how we do anniversaries around here, one sunset at a time. And if you do it right, there will be more.

There is one other thing I did as an anniversary reminder: I didn’t wear socks all day. I clearly remember how smitten I was with the warmth of air around here upon arrival from northeast eight hours away. So much so that the first year I didn’t wear socks until November. And it’s not an exaggeration.

When I remembered this in the morning, I looked at yesterday’s socks and forced myself to forget how I’d planned to wear them again today. Everything is relative and four years is a long time. If you ask me now, evenings are still very much sock-wearing chilly. I find this a great reminder how things are never to be taken for granted.

Here is last year’s anniversary post from my first blog if you wish to read and see how my move went along. And yes, there was a plant in the car.
