Eternity just got a bit longer: Rome celebrates its 2,770th birthday today.
I want to say thank you to Sara from The Rover in Leather Jacket who alerted me to it. Have a look at her most recent post and give us your favourite words in any language in a comment. She will appreciate it and me too, and nobody needs to apologise if there are too many. (See what I did? These two are my favourite words in English.)
In other news, I have that kind of slight fever that when I look out, I see a face of a weird Star Wars beast instead of the usual pine tree. I think I need more dad’s tangerine liquor.
Also also, my laptop shut down by itself three times today which made me google the problem and I found a trick with a straw, Scotch (tape, not Four Roses) and a piece of bread. Bread is for stopping you salivate. You’re welcome. It felt MIGHTY silly but so far, so good.
Also also also, I watched Haneke’s “Amour” yesterday and “Lone Survivor” today and I feel the weight of living all of a sudden. If you ever have a feeling that your job is a pain in the ass, have a look at either.
But now a quick tour of Rome, the Eternal City. Imagine how many vampires live there. Photos are ordered from May back to April since I’m lucky enough that I can visit it in all seasons. More info in the captions if I manage to stop looking at that face. It has turned into a skull by now.
Happy birthday, Roma, e stammi bene.

Thank you for the shout-out, dear ❤ I’d love to have other contributions, so yeah, WE NEED MORE WORDS. Then we’ll print and distribute for free the thesaurus of the wordpress travelbloggers, lol. I was able to extort some words in Vietnamese from the Master, now we need more languages! 😍 😵
Oh dear old girl Roma, happy birthday! Next time we go, we should organize a meet-up and hunt vampires. I never thought about vampires in Roma, but you’re right! The Eternal city must be populated by eternal (human) beings 😱
Lovely photos, I’m in love with the cluster pines ❤❤❤

You’re welcome, Sara! Definitely a meet-up, but we can also let the vampires be. 😀 The pine trees are my mom’s favourite.

I can’t picture in my mind Rome without the pine trees ❤

So much to love about Rome. Great photos, MMM! Rome’s 2,770th birthday makes Canada’s 150th look rather pathetic. We’re just babies in comparison 🙂

Thank you, Joanne! I’ve just heard Montréal has 375 years. That’s better than 150. 😉 But it’s no competition, as long as we all are here and now.

Quebec City and Montreal are *old* cities, but Canada as a country is much younger. There are many celebrations going on this year throughout Canada for her birthday and Montreal for her’s. It’s party time here!
… but Rome is likely smiling benevolently and thinking we’re like small children playing with balloons 😉

Hihi. On the other hand, your vampires are much younger. Anyway, every celebration is joyous and there can never be too many. Cheers!
