Happy reading!

My life is a reading list.
― John Irving (quotation reblogged from Logical Quotes)

Yesterday my parents sent me an email wishing me a happy World Book Day. Isn’t that the sweetest?

Technically it’s tomorrow but celebrations are going on already, in Slovenia as well. Thus the past night was The Night of the Book in Piran on Slovenian coast. Piran City Library celebrated it by inviting kids to spend the night right there without parents, read their favourite books, watch a show, listen to a concert, and — fanfare — eat pancakes! Yeah! Imagine that!

Photo by father who was obviously passing by. The poster says: “A good reader walks a step before the sheep.”
Two years ago the library displayed books with colours in their titles. The prominent spot was awarded to Eric Carle’s “Hello Red Fox” which is most obviously green.

If you ask me, my life is indeed a reading list, as John Irving says above. (Here is mine and I ask you to kindly leave your favourites in a comment.) As is a places-to-go list, movies-to-watch list and things-to-buy list. I rarely write the last one, though, and when I do, it only contains groceries in three languages.

Here is a collection of photos featuring Piran port’s own green and red lighthouses. For the nautical people they are just as informative as any book.

Looks like a charming place! Even on a gray day. I am not sure about my reading list. I have many books on my kindle, all in process – that would be my list, I guess 🙂

Those are just the cutest little lighthouses! I like the perspective of the 2 lighthouses together with the boats coming through the channel.

I’m assuming that is a bell on top?

    1. Thank you, Joanne. But.. hm… I’m not a very nautical person. A bell? I would say a light, no? 😀 Maybe somebody else knows… For sure I never hear any bell tolling from the port.
