WPC: Her heritage

Today marks one year since I posted my first post on this blog because my first blog was getting full. A good day to view one’s heritage.

In one year I managed to fill it up with less than 40% of space remaining. Serves me right for always cramming my posts with too many photos. Can’t help it, my selection process is as generous as me.

First we shall have a look at the last two weeks on my blog since I was busy with visitors last weekend, and then I’ll show you what heritage means to me. In the past 14 days:

• My Weekly Photo Challenge post on “Danger!” had to do with smoking, or even better, non-smoking;
• I translated my poet friend’s poem about times that were and added photos from our home-town Ljubljana, Slovenia;
• I stopped the car here in Maremma and took photos from the left window and then from the right;
• on Ljubljana’s V-Day Maya-the-dog found her ball in Rome’s beautiful park Villa Pamphili;
• for last week’s Photo Challenge I made a selection of reflections including one of me on dog;
• street artsy Thursday Doors were all from the same street, Trubarjeva in Ljubljana;
• then visitors arrived and we went to Pereta to eat because New York Times said we must;
• time came for another part of my personal movie madness with short reviews;
• then it was Thursday again and your door catering service reported from Tuscania;
• and the last post showed you how Italy seduces with apparent wholesomeness.

And now, to what I take from my ancestors. My favourite quotation on the subject sums it up beautifully:

I’d say “love of gardening” but that would be a lie. 😀 Parents’ garden in Piran is paradise.

Mom is still at it, whereas recently I prefer films. Father is waving.

The birth of my aesthetics: playing with grandma’s postcards. I tried the tapestry that grandma is doing too, but somehow it didn’t stick.

This is where I kept what I loved before blogging. Represented: e.e. cummings, Mickey Rourke, Slavoj Žižek, Trpanj, Jeanette Winterson, my Peugeot 504 on Crete, tarok cards, Robert Doisneau, Picasso, Pearl Jam tickets.
