WPC: Her heritage

Today marks one year since I posted my first post on this blog because my first blog was getting full. A good day to view one’s heritage.

In one year I managed to fill it up with less than 40% of space remaining. Serves me right for always cramming my posts with too many photos. Can’t help it, my selection process is as generous as me.

First we shall have a look at the last two weeks on my blog since I was busy with visitors last weekend, and then I’ll show you what heritage means to me. In the past 14 days:

And now, to what I take from my ancestors. My favourite quotation on the subject sums it up beautifully:

Walking, I am listening to a deeper way. Suddenly all my ancestors are behind me. Be still, they say. Watch and listen. You are the result of the love of thousands.
Linda Hogan, Native American writer

Many photos will be familiar to those who have stuck with me for a while. With thanks, always.

  2. What, has it already been a year?!! Nice family shots – and I do remember seeing some of them. The black and white ones are my faves!

    1. Thanks, SMSW, father is a pro. Yes, a year flew by as if it’s nothing. And now one more will do the same.

Hey! I’m a collager too! Great photos. Very fond of Pippi, Pooh, and father and son 🙂

    1. Thanks, Joey. 🙂 Collager, right… I didn’t know there’s a word for us. By “son” you mean bestia, right? 😉

Oh no, have I got it wrong? Is that you and your dad in the black and white?

  6. Great memories! I’ve enjoyed the year of images and stories and look forward to many more.

I used to collect my favorite things on a corkboard. The boards are long gone, but in boxes the things remain. 🙂

    1. Thank you, Deborah! Oh yes, the show must go. (As a contestant in a Slovenian reality show wrongly quoted.) No end in sight. I’ve got my old things in boxes too, but they are back in Slovenia…

Your love of family always shines through in your posts and so it is no surprise that it should take centre stage in a pictorial view of your heritage 🙂
I love the multi-generational photo at the beginning. Your mom on the far left was instantly recognizable. She still looks the same over all the years!!

    1. Hihi, thank you, Joanne, I’ll make sure mom sees this. She is a wonder woman! And I’m glad it shines through, thanks for saying so. ❤

    1. Thank you, Su Leslie, and for having a look around. Oh yes, four generations. Do you see how all three are making sure in the exactly same way that I don’t fall? 🙂

Yes; their love and concern are so clear, and visually it makes the composition of the shot really powerful.
