Without further ado, I give you the Duomo on the hill. On the right, do you see it?
The Cathedral of Orvieto in Umbria, from all angles, mostly with doors, including the neighbour’s. No wonder Orvieto is one of my top ten smaller middle Italian towns. It was a pleasure and privilege to visit it with my American girls. And I haven’t even been inside the Cathedral yet! (Not because photography is forbidden.)
I don’t edit much even on an idle day, but due to a new visitor these are especially as is. Enjoy.

According to your utility (thank you!), two days ago when we were there my car showed 100F, in a month or so it will be up to 105F or more. Today I turned on A/C in our home. A whole new world.

The black and tan stripes of the marble are (one of my) favorite memories from the churches and cathedrals. It is very striking and memorable, as are your reflecting doors. Have fun with your visiting friends Manja!

Was going back and forth for a long time between Dyad and Bushwick. I chose this one for now, because I couldn’t get used to the small images. But I LOVE the first impression of Dyad.
Haha, never thought about them having a competition of the cathedrals;) Wished they had continued that competitiveness. In Southern Cal went to one in the business district. I loved the people, but no sense for decorum whatsoever. Everything was straight and no color scheme!

Gorgeous shots of an amazing building. The black and white exterior walls remind me of the one in Siena but I guess this is a common design style there?
The reflection shots are my faves. Overall it looks like I have another place to add to my Italian bucket list, but I’ll make sure to go in September and not June or July 😉

FINALLY revisiting this post. Love love love it! So glad to have shared this day with you. The cathedral, no matter what, cannot be represented in a photo (not to say at all that your photos are anything but lovely!!) It is so astoundingly grand and beautiful. Seeing it in person was just a big humbling wow.
