Overgrown

Here are some instances of plants on Italian houses. Better overgrown than overblown.

These were taken in the last month on our visits to Trastevere in Rome (doors from there coming on Thursday), Orvieto, Civita di Bagnoregio (all these three locations done with my American friends), Porto Ercole, Sassetta, and Ansedonia (all these three done with my Slovenian visitor). Only the obituaries are from my home town. Not the worst place to end up.

I know that she didn’t mean to, but on the last photo my friend seems to be saying “Basta with this Tuscany!” 😉 Even bestia can’t believe his ears. Nope, never quite enough. Plus your red goes well with that green.

    1. Thank you, Dan. 🙂 I guess I’m drawn to the green so much more due to the heat.

I guess it does help keep the place cool.

  2. Ce doit être frais dans celles qui sont toutes recouvertes. Des maisons écolos?

    1. I haven’t been inside any of these to see if they are cold. What does “écolos” mean? Eco-bio-organic? Or schools?

All of these photos look so inviting, but the scene with the bicycle captured my imagination. Love!

P.S.: I MIGHT be coming in Tuscany in 10/15 days (super-last minute!) And still planning where exactly to go…Are you in town? Maybe we can meet 🙂

    1. Ahh, going to Slovenia in 2 weeks! 😮 Just too bad! It is extra hot now, but you can imagine. Perfect if you like the beach. Go to Elba, I haven’t been yet but the beaches are gorgeous! Monte Argentario is not bad either. I do NOT recommend strolling around towns in midday. Or possibly you can hide in museums and churches. 🙂 You’ll come back, I’m sure. And thank you!

    1. No, I haven’t! I’ve just checked, it’s 2.5h away from me, just like Florence. I’m certainly going to visit it one day, it’s on my list. I haven’t been to Perugia either! Thank you so much, Vy!
