I had a bit of a problem with the theme of this week’s photo challenge. “Delta” only brings the Nile and the Greek letter to mind.
Cool IT kids like Liz surely understand (she even gave me a good example based on our last Thursday Doors joint posts: “So, the delta of your post and mine are the ones that are different”), even amore said it’s got to do with maths, and yet I was still firing all synapses to try and grasp the notion.
Then I read the original WPC post again and saw that we are to “share a photograph that signifies transitions and change to you”. Never a good pupil and always an overachiever, here is not just one photo but several of one of the most drastic changes I know. Goes well with the book I’m still reading, “The Omnivore’s Dilemma”. I live in rural Tuscany, lucky me.
As for the steaks, not a fan of red meat. I had often heard scary talk of huge, heavy steaks that are only to be grilled 3 minutes on each side. And then it happened. These were bought in Rome in a shop that reportedly caters to the Vatican. We served the Florentine steaks to a couple of Florentines – Firenze residents – and they nodded their heads yes. The Bestia only laughed.
As the Pope just said on TV: “Buon pranzo e arrivederci.” Good lunch and see you around.
But first let’s have a quick look at the past week on my blog, since it’s Sunday:
- Last Sunday I showed you what I did the Sunday before: had a grand view and flowers laid out at the monastery above Orbetello;
- there was a collection of Italian windows and buildings covered in vines;
- I finally put together the June post for my Calendar 2016 with double dose of photos;
- on Thursday my blogger friend Liz and I shared the results of our first joint doorscursion for Thursday Doors;
- on Friday my mom’s cousin Janja celebrated her 70th birthday;
- and yesterday I showed my grandfather for his birthday what happened to his garden decades after he saw it last, and there was a maple for Canada Day too.
And now let’s delta.

You completely and fully explored the meaning of delta this week 🙂 Your English vocabulary will most likely surpass mine at some point!

Thank you, Scilla, for what appears to be your first comment on my blog. 🙂 Yes, I am, for 4 years already. I can’t say it was my dream or it wouldn’t have just happened… Or would it?
