Not often have I an opportunity to provide exactly what the original Weekly Photo Challenge poster asks for.
But seeing that I was in Trastevere in Rome last month, ohhhing and ahhhing at the doors, windows, street art and general quirkiness on display, I happened to take the same snap. (Mine is the last in the gallery below.) And I wasn’t alone: my friend Liz at Fetching the World was there too, drawn in by the same sights. Looking forward to her collage post.

It starts lightly.
An early collagist thought to flick a shell up on the façade.
I know, the shell works better.
This is Trastevere for you: even when they are not trying, they create a collage.
An African fellow.
To me this is a gallery as much as any “official” one.
Hanging out.
This is why graffiti don’t disturb. It’s like saying the gallery would be splendid without all those paintings.
Multi-storey gallery.
No posting.
Smile, please.
Always space for improvement.
Write it down.
Another kind of collage.
A better kind of collage, yum!
Liz drawn in.
Here it is, The Collaaaage.

Real world collage unselfconscious about itself. You found it and framed these views for us. A participant in it, now, you are. I love the photos and seeing your wonderful eye at work again.

Thank you, Claudia, for your lovely comment. This is such a place that to be there is participate, in a way.

Trastevere has become Hipster Central!

I’m a bit removed, you see, and wouldn’t know one if I saw one, except if he had a man bun. Hipsters sound like a thing of the past. Was Sartre one? Not enough beard? Anyway, I love any place that breathes.

Hey bella! Just dropping by. Love how color-coordinated this collage is! 🙂 And the “general quirkiness”, of course!

Yuhuuu, girl, great to see you hop around! Italy is stylish on every corner. Just today I found a mini Trastever in Maribor, Slovenia. 🙂
