This was yesterday…

…but now it’s all covered again and a storm is coming. Enjoy yesterday instead.

I went on a walk with Bestia and caught some lovely views, including wall-high waves splashing against the boardwalk, peculiar pink-blue sunset and a line of clouds just above the horizon. Today it’s a whole new story with dramatic clouds over the sea and new rain. But more about this tomorrow.

If Slovenia is indeed “the nation on the best location”, then Piran is its best located town, catching the last light of the day and most of its good weather.

If you click on a photo, you’ll be transported over here and we can have gelato.

    1. Thank you, Joey. It’s something else to be there among them. Photos of a sunset never do it justice. Father said: “Even I have similar to these.” Always the encourager.

    1. Thank you, Farmgirl. Feels like the end of the world. When you get here, there’s just Italy left to go. Okay, and Croatia.

  6. Wow that wave is impressive!!! BTW, I clicked many photos because I really wanted to have gelato with you. I remember there’s a good place in Ljubljana for gelato. So hopefully some day we will meet up there 🙂

    1. Ohh, I’m curious which gelato place in LJ you mean. Remember any details? Yes, I’d love that very much too. I’m always somewhere close, all you need is to get here. Thank you for clicking! 🙂

      1. You know. I don’t remember the name of that place. I just know it was on the east side of the banks, and there was a cart under a big tree. But I’m sure I can find it if I see it again.

      3. 😉 Well, as you know, LJ is not big at all, and this gelateria is really centrally located. But I’m glad. And it’s really good.

Beautiful! I could sit and watch waves like that for a long time. It’s a full sensory experience – the sound, the sight, the smell of the water, and if you’re close enough, getting splashed with the spray 🙂
Like you said though, I don’t think I’d like to have my car parked on the shoreline like that!!

    1. Thanks, Joanne. I was way up the hill but could still hear the children scream. Parking is a huge problem in Piran. All its parking houses are constantly full. You are not allowed to park in the town proper – such as these in the photo – unless you’re a property owner with the yearly pass.

Thanks for the warning if ever I find myself there. Finding parking is one of those things that always causes me stress.
