Another happy compilation post that I like so much.
Texture might denote something more palpable than some of my photos show, but to me these twenty images express the most tangible summer surfaces and materials. When it’s winter again, I’ll only need to glance at them to recall the heat wave and the good moments I’ve been spending in my country of origin.
And this is precisely why I blog. The fact that you are able to peek into my summer is one of those surprises one could have hardly believed back then when my summer memories were gathered in my scrappy notebook that smelled of the sea all year long.
All of these were taken in the last two weeks in Piran on Slovenian coast. My return date has been moved forward for a week. I have enough time to convert all of you into believing that you simply MUST come over.
For starters, click on any photo to see the texture from up close.
I might buy most of these, alas, no holes for them.
Paintings in a shopping window of a hairdresser. She does them herself.
A display of an active art society. On the left: “A path to the light. Find it!”
A designated spot for the fishing championship (for real).
These holes were made by long shells that are yum but alas forbidden to collect.
A useful piece of merchandise by an insurance company.
A monument to a marketing guru.
A rich choice of textures.
This passage with the artwork on the wall always makes me happy.
Always a nice new view awaits your discovery.
Some true texture.
Piran rooftops pattern.
Da beach.
Da sea. Swimmer alert.
Da house with more stones added for mom’s art project among kiwis and grapes.
These are Italians. They are on holidays.
Solar cell collectors in our garden.
Nice light in the living room, even with the bottle chandelier idle.
I didn’t see the inscription on the wall, I went for the chimneys.
Amazing light two evenings ago. Colour not altered.

I love the peek into your summer, but the photo of the solitary swimmer is a WOW! … the composition with the boats, the clarity of the water, and perspective of how high up you were to have this view. Nice!
