Now that December has arrived, here is a look at the last month of the past year for the final part of my 2016 Calendar.

Actually no, the very last act will come later this month as a finale of this blog when I shall choose only one photo from each month in order to compile the ultimate Calendar 2016 which was my original intention, but then I fell into the if-I-choose-only-one-all-the-others-will-be-sad trap.

Which is also why there are 15 photos here instead of the usual twelve. It was a good month. And another one like it has just begun.

All the other months are listed and linked to at the end of the post. If you feel like choosing your favourite photo for each month, go ahead, I’ll pretend it was your idea so that I don’t come off as too premeditated. 😀

Heart calling back east again, if only for a while. Slovenia will be colder, wetter, louder, more active and more peopled with all those that I miss.

And on Thursdays don’t forget to close the door, or your kitchen will be in my picture. 😉

Some might see winter as a black and white affair, but my last December was surprisingly colourful, as we shall see.

Then it was off to Rome: a lovely pre-dinner stroll through Trastevere and over the Tiber.

Just an ordinary building in Rome’s Monteverde. This is their trick: they adorn everything with beauty, so that sometimes you don’t even notice it.

“Follow Your Heart.” What a simple guidance and one I shall never be sorry to obey. After Christmas it pointed to the Slovenian coast.
