Home-hopping

Hail hail all who have homes, and countries, to hop between.

Rolling over into Slovenia of origin tomorrow. Below are the three places in Slovenia that I can call home. Snow is supposed to greet us but it should warm up again. And then back to Rome for Christmas and home to Tuscany for New Year’s.

When did my life get to sound like a soap opera?

      2. Just before in Rome, there was something falling that was NOT just rain any more. 😮 But it’s a bit too warm for snow. I wonder when it will start tomorrow. Luckily we don’t start from our home because in that way we would need to climb the mountains to reach Firenze. Also, I forgot to include the best bit: we stop at midday sharp so that amore can buy Rome Pearl Jam tickets for next June. 😀 😀

Lovely Piran)) I love the feeling of having multiple homes. So far I have two home towns: Oslo and Barcelona. My native town is unavailable bc of the conflict. But I hope to include Ukraine to my itinerary of homes)) I see it as richness of life.

    1. Ohh, Mex, Oslo and Barcelona sound excellent. Black and white, warm and cold, light and night. 🙂 Sorry to hear about the unavailability of your home town. Things change, we only need to live long enough. This is richness, yes, best of both worlds.

Nice mix, yes? 😋 You picked right words for that cocktail)) I work on integrating more Bcn into my life)) With more Barcelona even dark and Oslo would feel lovelier and nicer, I am sure.
I am sure, one day I will go to my hometown. I am still so young and things do change all the time. Thank you for a word of support ❤️

  3. Sounds like a good life to me :). Beijing is too far for me to hop back and forth to, 12 jour flight. Yikes

    1. Ohh, I didn’t know you were from Beijing, Sunny Days. 🙂 Indeed, a bit far… Even though an 8-hour drive is not so close either. I have not been to Asia at all yet. Life is long… And indeed it’s great!

    1. Thank you, Prior. 🙂 This time I will only stay in the capital, Ljubljana, due to snow. Amore is not a fan. 😀 He calls it “drama”.

How perfect is the light in that last pic? Good grief, I feel like I’m in the room looking at the flowers!
Safe travels to you — make merry and bright ❤

    1. Thank you, Joey. ❤ The table is outside, is this obvious from the photo? We eat here in the summer, even though for lunch it's too hot. Enjoy the Russians if you haven't yet. 🙂

No, not obvious to me. It’s lovely!
We didn’t make it to Russian food yet. We only had Sassy last night, and she wanted Japanese, so we did the hibachi thing.

  8. Lovely photos, they make me feel nostalgic. Grandma waving in the window… ❤️

    1. Ohh, yes, SMSW. ❤ I was there to visit her soooo many times and she was always waving, sometimes even on the other side of the building, where there is a window with the view of the bridge over the Drava river, and when passing the bridge we would see her wave with a sheet or some cloth. 😀

I love the grandma window, very nostalgic indeed… I wonder if it is possible at all to preserve one’s image of home in our minds. Even though everything has changed beyond recognition. Thanks for bringing back memories. All the best with your holiday romp across Europe! 😊

    1. Oh yes, Jolene, I think the view remains intact no matter what. 🙂 It might sound as if it were across Europe but even though it takes up to 8 hours, the countries are neighbours. 😀 Thank you!

Yep, that’s the benefit of being in Europe – seamless borders! So jealous….

    1. Hehe, we shall leave villas to those who can afford the heating, but yeah, life is hard but someone has to do it. 😉 Grazie, Fabrizio! I commute but you travel for real! Must be hard too…
