Thursday Doors, September 7 2017

After Joey it’s Dan to the rescue, guest-hosting Norm’s Thursday Doors. For Dan, and all of you, a bunch of green doors.

I remember posting a lovely green door once and Dan commented that he doesn’t see green colour all that well. Here are doors in different shades of greenness for him to test his eyes. They are arranged from the lightest to darker green and rather blue ones towards the end.

I must admit that green is my favourite colour, doors or nature or clothes or cars or anything, really. But most of all I love green on my basketball team (even when they play in white). As I was writing my door post last week, Slovenia won their first game at the Euro championship and by now they have won all five. So far. This reminds me of the times when I was winning card tournaments: it’s sufficient not to lose.

I will also admit having thought that Dan would be the first Thursday Doors host and Joey the second, so I’d collected these Italian, Slovenian and one Czech green door already before gathering flowery doors for Joey.

And finally – keeping in mind all the people, and there are so many, who are suffering from real natural disasters – I have to admit that I’m quite a bit photoed out, travelled out, blogged out and burnt out from all the heat of this summer. I just wish to watch atomic basketball that Slovenia is playing and chill. And that’s what I will do, watch me. See you next week, same time same place.

I LOVE your green doors, Manja!!! A much-overlooked color for doors and cars in my estimation. I, myself, have two green doors on my house–front gate and garage. This is my favorite Thursday Doors collection in a long time.

    1. Ah, thank you, Judy! I’m so glad you like it! ❤ You might have posted your green doors already? I remember some lovely doors that you have (as is your entire property). As for overlooked, here in Italy it's not a popular car (or men's shirt) colour at all. I had two green cars back in Slovenia, though. Lovely deep dark green they were.

My very first car was a forest green Firebird with a black vinyl top. I loved it but had to sell it when I moved to Australia. I always regretted not holding onto it.

      2. Oh yes, I get the regret. And my first was like this one, Peugeot 404: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/6/66/Peugeot404-berline.jpg

I was getting worried. I was wondering if Manja was going to forget me 😦

I was telling someone earlier that I always try to figure out what color doors I like the best. Green is definitely in the run.

I love the weathered old door, the small access door, the 1/3 – 2/3 split doors, and the door under the sunburst. My favorite, though is the photo of the open door with the iron work grill – I love those shadows!

    1. Ahhh, Dan, not possible, never fear! 🙂 True, I feel overwhelmed with the amount of all back posts I should be reading from all of you, but I’m not seeing myself miss a Thursday! And I’m glad I included your favourite, it was a late addition.

  4. Green is my favorite color too. I think we’re in a small group. I love this collection! The last door is my favorite though for the reflection. Wonderful! See me kissing my fingers and throwing that kiss to you in the Italian way as I say, “Wonderful!” 🙂

Enjoy the game, and see you here next week; same time, same place!

They are all, as ever, magnificent specimens 🙂 I love the green collection. I am also fond of green, although it’s not my favorite. It’s a wonderful calm color and it rests my brain.
The narrow green door, which as you say, has the pink offsetting it, really lovely. I adore that entrance, with the tree as well, of course.
Also very fond of the featured photo — ooh pretty handles!
I have been in WP less lately, and think I will maintain that trend for a while. I hope you get some chill time soon. May it include plenty of green 🙂

    1. Thank you, Joey. I’m glad you like my green doors. But nature-wise, I’ll have to wait over a month for the green to return. I’ll never be happier to see it. We all do what we must and when we have to… I wish you a lovely autumn.

  6. Lovey selection of greens and I, like Joey, like the door with the pink walls to go with it and the tree to the side. May you find to rest, relax, and rejuvenate. (I see you have a new blog theme, too.)

    1. Thank you, Janet, and for your good wishes too. Last week I had a whole bunch of plants to go with my doors, I’m not sure if you saw that. As for the theme, it’s not new, still the same Dyad theme, but today I’ve chosen the other of only two available formats – ‘image’.

Good choice to change the outlook of your theme for these doors, Manja, since several of your images are horizontally focused. My favorite color is blue – so it’s the blue door. But we are in the process of painting our house green – a sage kind of green.Feel a similar kind of weariness. but it has probably a different kind of reason – my change from Windows system to Apple. I forgot how many things I did automatically! Wishing you a relaxing time, Manja.

    1. Oh, I’ve never tried an Apple system, I can only imagine! I don’t like changes of this kind. I like sage though, the colour and the scent and the look of it. 🙂 I wish you a happy green house! ❤

Haha. I like the play on words – I would like a green house very much here, since the deer are eating most plants and flowers! But the cost!

My favourite colour is green as well 😍 I was born in a little (sort of) borgo, surrounded by the woods, so I was very used to see green just by looking outside my window. It’s also the most “relaxing” colour for the human eye, they say 🙂

    Awesome pics as usual!
