January

What happens when you see a lovely calendar post and decide to do your own.

Yesterday I saw a post by Judith at Beyond the Window Box in which she posts one photo from each month of this year. I warned her that I might nick the idea and she agreed.

When I started to gather photos, I had twelve immediately.

There was just a little problem: they were all from January.

Terribly stuck to choose only one! and discard all the rest! I decided to simply make a January post instead. I don’t think the other months will follow even though they might.

However, when I tried to upload the photos – it was about this time yesterday – I realised that my laptop had lost its upload power. Mail was fine, downloading was fine, Twitter was fine, just Facebook was stalling opening photos and videos and showing my feed. The other computer in the network was fine. Phone was fine. Today it was even worse: even though router was showing that internet connection was, you guessed it, fine, practically nothing was opening, or just for a very short while.

Was it a case of our provider Tiscali having some fun, was it like amore said: “If you cannot upload that means somebody else is downloading”, or was somebody out there afraid that I might write to the electors like some Micheal Moore? 😉 Just in case, I waved into my webcam even though it was off.

Did anybody have such problems yesterday as well? Any idea?

Anyway, the situation resolved itself without my help just earlier and here is my January. (Clicking on the first photo will open a gallery.)

Quite nice. I think we all understand the angst over slow internet. It’s the worst of all techy troubles.
My January calendar would just be a collection of snow on trees and noddles in bowls. lol 😀

    1. Joey, thanks. It was not just slow internet, it was scarier than this. As for noddles, internet tells me it means a person’s head. I suppose noodles were meant and preferred. 😉

Hm, I feel certain that y’all eat noodles, noodles are essential cosmopolitan food. Rezanci, hm? But not quite pasta…Thick, flat egg noodles for winter. (To make me thick. lol)

      2. Yeahh, well done for rezanci! I adore them, and every kind of pasta! Just that you wrote NODDLES! 😉

    1. Thank you, Claudia. 🙂 I guess if you look closely enough, you can find a little bit of magic everywhere.

These are beautiful. I have a couple of 2016 photo recaps planned for between the holidays, but I’m trying to avoid having a theme. I’ll work on not repeating photos, which will be hard enough for me.

    1. Thank you, Dan. I know, not repeating is hard. But these were posted on my first blog, I’ve only started this one in late May. So I might make these compilations by month at least until then.

Maybe I’ll steal the idea, this is so cool. Perhaps a post at the end of each month showing some photos of that particular month.. Let’s see..

My heart is stolen by that “from the roof” picture. That blending of violets and blues, dreamy and fairytale-y, and that tree standing in the middle of all that magic… The nature plays while we sleep 🙂
